2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the platform to work. Without these you cannot sign in, publish a listing, or process payments. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies; if you block them, the platform will not function.
- Supabase auth cookies (
sb-*-auth-token) — keep you signed in across requests. Set on the rentgh.apporigin via@supabase/ssr. Expire when your session expires or you sign out. - Session cookies for OAuth flows — short-lived PKCE verifiers used when you sign in with Google.
- CSRF / security cookies set by Next.js and Vercel to mitigate common web attacks.
Analytics
Help us understand how people use the platform so we can improve it. Anonymised or pseudonymised; not used for advertising.
- Vercel Analytics — page-view counts and core web vitals. No personally identifying data.
- PostHog — product analytics (which features are used, which flows succeed). Sets a pseudonymous id cookie.
Functional / preferences
Small bits of state we keep locally to make the experience smoother — e.g. remembering whether you collapsed a panel or chose grid vs map view.
What we don't use
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not sell or share your data with ad networks.
3. Third-party cookies
Some pages load resources from third parties that may set their own cookies on your device:
- Google when you sign in with Google.
- Paystack on payment pages, while you are paying.
- Cloudinary when loading optimised photos.
- OpenStreetMap tile servers when a map is rendered.
These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which govern how they use cookies on their domains.
4. Controlling cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and most platform features.
You can also opt out of analytics specifically without affecting sign-in. To opt out of PostHog product analytics, contact us at privacy@rentgh.app and we will add your account to the analytics exclusion list.

5. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools that use cookies. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
